Brand Strategy + Launch Event: Nuppu Labs

TLDR: launching a Finnish design and technology company in the US

A Finnish web and mobile offshoring agency was looking to enter the US market and worked with BYO Consulting to create a launch event in NYC.

BYO developed a number of components including: a unique and descriptive brand identity, a launch event that illustrated the product in an engaging way, and a social media strategy to enhance their audience’s understanding of the brand concept, and ensuring that the business strategy resonated with a US audience.

We helped the agency refine its offerings and strategies and shifted their language to position the brand in a culturally relevant way that resonates with New Yorkers’ core tech needs.

BYO developed a company name, brand identity and collateral that would help New Yorkers instantly recognize the agency as a top-tier Finnish design and technology company.

The launch event took place during Internet Week 2012. In the weeks leading up to the event, we created a Finnish Design and Technology board on Pinterest and invited launch attendees to contribute to it as the event drew near. The Pinterest board acted as a tool to increase understanding of Finnish design and technology and show high quality examples of that work to an audience who was unfamiliar with it. We used the images collected on an animated pinboard at the party to reinforce the aesthetic and include attendees’ work in the event.

The event itself was designed as an opportunity to showcase works of Finnish design and technology in order to give our audience a sense of the types of products they’d get when working with the agency.

We showcased work from a variety Finnish collaborators— including Nordic Breads, Finlandia Vodka, Playmysong social jukebox app, and fashion designer Ivana Helsinki—in a gallery-style environment.

Upon arrival, guests were given a personal didactic card with information about each station and instructions on how to move through the event space.
