trashscapes
For the past decade I’ve been photographing accidental compositions of strange and beautiful debris found on the streets of New York City, mostly in the East Village. What started as a casual habit of noticing became an ongoing project capturing what gets left behind. I am especially drawn to the ways that the found matter interplays with the city’s infrastructure—the utility covers and sidewalk seams providing framing and balance to the banana peels and playing cards.
In 2025, I curated a selection of pieces from this archive to create a photozine: trashscapes, vol. 1.
It is available for purchase at Village Works bookstore in the East Village, NYC. You can also purchase online here.
Select images from the series are available as prints or for exhibition upon request.
